In Acts 20, Paul reminds church leaders that they have a mandate from God to safeguard the integrity and purity of Christ’s church. Like a shepherd who leads his sheep, an elder has the responsibility to lead God’s people in three distinct ways so that the church will remain faithful to Christ.
1. A Shepherd Leads by Example (vv. 17–24).
2. A Shepherd Leads by Instruction (vv. 25–31).
3. A Shepherd Leads by Prayer (vv. 32–33).
