Luke 1:1-4 constitutes the prologue to Luke’s Gospel. In these verses, Luke gives us his three-fold purpose for writing his account about the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. His purpose is historical, theological, and pastoral, and serves to build an unshakeable faith in the person and work of Christ.
