Jim has been working in the construction business for over 35 years. In 2008, he became a founding partner with Rosamond Truss, Inc., where he’s been working ever since.
It was through the construction business that God brought Jim to saving faith in Christ. Back in the spring of 1985, Jim was working on trusses for a new church building when he met with the pastor and was presented with the gospel of Christ. Jim repented of his sins and surrendered his life to Christ at that same church there in Camarillo. He and his wife, Ellen, served there for five years up until the Lord move them to Tehachapi. Jim has been serving as a church leader in Tehachapi now for over 20 years.
Jim met his beloved bride, Ellen, in 1979, while fighting fires with the California Conservation Corp in Northern California. They were married nine months later and have enjoyed a very blessed marriage for over 35 years. They have three wonderful children: Maile (Belles), Jennifer (Hensler), and James, and God has also blessed them with five amazing grandchildren.
Asked about his favorite text of Scripture, Jim says, “Romans 9:14–26. It’s because this passage talks about God’s absolute power and sovereignty, along with His unfathomable mercy and grace. It shows us that our faith must be in Him and not in ourselves. And that we must rejoice in His great mercy and undeserved grace.”
Jim grew up surfing and backpacking so he and Ellen love to spend time with family and friends at the beach or camping in the mountains. “The best times, however, at this stage in life, are spent with our grandchildren and watching them excel at their sports and hobbies. We are so blessed to see our children have a true faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.”
