Welcome

Firmly Committed to Absolute Truth and Unifying Love

Thank you for visiting us! We are a fellowship of believers in Jesus Christ who are passionate about the glory of God. We are committed to edifying and equipping the saints through expository preaching, discipleship, prayer, and outreach. We exist to savor the supremacy of God, study the Word of God, shape the people of God, and spread the gospel of God throughout the city of Tehachapi and around the world. We invite you to come and worship with us!

Our People

Welcome to Sovereign Grace Church. We exist as an independent, non-denominational fellowship of believers committed to the sufficiency of Scripture and the authority of the Word of God. If you’re looking for a church committed to teaching God’s Word and exalting the Lord Jesus Christ, we invite you to come and worship with us.

Our Purpose

Sovereign Grace Church is a fellowship of believers where the exaltation of God takes precedence over all things. Our ministry purpose is to love, serve, and equip the body of Christ so that we can grow in our knowledge and application of God’s Word, and to lead others to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. When you visit with us, we trust that you’ll discover God’s sovereign grace among us.

Our Priorities

We teach that the church must exist and operate on the principles and passions laid down for us in Scripture. Our priorities include the following:

1. To Glorify God: This is the chief duty of the church and so every part of our ministry must be done so that “with one accord [we] may with one voice glorify God” (Rom. 15:6). We do this so that “to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen” (Eph. 3:21).

2. To Equip the Saints: From the founding of the church, God gave us apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers “for the equipping the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ” (Eph. 4:12). We see ourselves as standing in a long line of godly men contending “earnestly for the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints” (Jude 3).

3. To Evangelize the Lost: The Great Commission in Matthew 28:19–20 commands us to go and “make disciples of all the nations.” Our world needs the gospel of Jesus Christ because “it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek” (Rom. 1:16).

4. To Await Christ’s Return: Since Christ Himself is building up His church (Matt. 16:18), He will also return for His church (1 Thess. 4:13–18). Therefore, our priority is to live sensibly and righteously as we wait joyfully and expectantly for His appearing (Titus 2:11–14).

If you find these priorities to be yours as well, then come and visit us on a Sunday morning. If we can minister to you in any way, it would be our privilege and joy. Blessings in Christ!
