The Bible makes it abundantly clear that there is great power in godly prayer. James 5:16 tells us, “The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.” For this reason, prayer is absolutely essential to the life and ministry of Sovereign Grace Church. To meet the spiritual needs of our congregation, we publish prayer requests and praises in our weekly Sunday bulletin. These requests and praises are updated and revised on a regular basis. The purpose of our prayer ministry is to serve one another “as good stewards of the manifold grace of God” (1 Peter 4:10). We count it a privilege, as a church fellowship, to “draw near with confidence to the throne of grace” on behalf of all people (Hebrews 4:16; cf. 1 Timothy 2:1–4).
