For many years, Devin spent much of his career managing mine operations within the aggregates and asphalt construction materials industry. Recently, he’s become self-employed and enjoys refurbishing old and neglected homes, and turning them into something special for people to call home.

Devin came to saving faith in Christ during his teenage years at a Christian summer camp. He still continues to marvel at how God’s sovereignty controls every circumstance in life to bring sinners to salvation in Christ. He’s grateful, too, to grow in the process of sanctification, becoming less like the world and more like Christ, who is our true King and eternal Creator.

Asked about his favorite text of Scripture, Devin explains, “If I were to narrow it down to one verse, it would be Ephesians 2:8. God’s loving grace is where our faith starts. It’s very clear that we have nothing to contribute to our own salvation, but God has done it all. What a great reminder of our position with God! That, we cannot save ourselves, but that salvation is a ‘gift of God.’”

Devin has been married to his high school sweetheart, Erin, for over 30 years. They have two grown children, Travis and Megan, who are both involved in the music ministry of our church fellowship. In their leisure time, the Embrees love to camp, ride dirt bikes and buggies, and thoroughly enjoy spending time with their church family building relationships.
